The construction of a new Water Treatment Plant in Gowran, Co Kilkenny, is galloping along at pace. This investment in the Gowran Regional Water Supply Scheme will enhance the quality and security of the water supply across Gowran, Goresbridge, and Paulstown.
This project represents a significant investment that will benefit over 1,200 customers. It includes the construction of a brand-new water treatment plant, treated water storage tanks, rising mains, and the development of additional groundwater sources to supplement existing supply arrangements.
The project will also provide additional capacity for new connections to the water supply scheme, supporting growth and development in Gowran and the surrounding areas.
Darragh Hannon, Uisce Éireann’s Programme Manager, is pleased with the progress made since the project began, “This multi-million Euro investment will greatly benefit the local communities. The new water treatment plant and related infrastructure are essential for the area, supporting future growth and development while ensuring a continued supply of safe and secure water for existing communities."
Uisce Éireann would like to thank the local community for their patience and ongoing support as we complete this essential project.
This critical investment project is being carried out by David Walsh Civil Engineering on behalf of Uisce Éireann and is expected to be completed by the end of 2025.
