Water supply returning to Uisce Éireann customers in Galway City
Crews have carried out the repair works and a normal water supply is expected within hours

Water is returning to Uisce Éireann customers in Galway City following a burst to a water main earlier today.
Uisce Éireann crews have carried out the repair works and the network is currently recharging. It is expected that the majority of customers who experienced a disruption in The Meadows, The Paddocks, Racecourse Lawn, Racecourse Gardens, Lios Caisil, Tír na Gcapall, Cúirt na Rásaí, Briarhill Business Park, Monivea Road, and surrounding areas in Galway City will have a normal water supply within hours. However, it may take longer for normal supply to be restored to customers on higher ground or at the end of the network.
Uisce Éireann’s Tony Kelly thanked customers for their patience as the network recharges.
“We understand the inconvenience of an unplanned outage and we appreciate customers’ support as we worked to return a normal supply to our customers in Galway City today.”

Uisce Éireann crews are working to restore normal water supply to homes and businesses in Galway City this afternoon, following a burst to a water main.
Customers in The Meadows, The Paddocks, Racecourse Lawn, Racecourse Gardens, Lios Caisil, Tír na Gcapall, Cúirt na Rásaí, Briarhill Business Park, Monivea Road and surrounding areas in Galway City may be impacted by water supply disruptions as a result.
Expert water service crews have been dispatched and are carrying out the required repair works, with every effort being made to complete this work as quickly as possible. Works are scheduled to take place until 5pm this evening.
Uisce Éireann’s Tony Kelly thanked affected customers for their cooperation while these repair works are being carried out.
“We understand how disruptive unplanned outages are and we regret the inconvenience caused. We would like to thank impacted customers for their patience while we work to restore the water supply as quickly as possible.”
Typically, it takes three to four hours following repairs for supply to restore to customers affected by an unplanned outage. However, it may take longer for normal supply to be restored to customers on higher ground or at the end of the network.
